Our Beers

Our Fort Point Brewing KSA Kolsch is our go-to for October: it’s a light, super drinkable and delicious beer that has the look and taste of summer, but is perfect for the celebratory season. The Fort Point brewers start with warrior and saphir hops, bohemian pilsner, pale wheat, munich, and vienna grains that combines new American and traditional German flavors and merries them on a new, fresh and crisp take on a German Kolsch-style brew. We love this beer for its robust, bold flavors from the German malts and a clean finish from American hops. We always love an old-school style beer, and this fits the bill! Try it whenever you’re looking for a lower ABV percentage (it’s 4.6%) that packs a punch. According to Fort Point’s head brewer Mike Schnebeck, it started out as a homebrew recipe that grew into something larger than itself: balanced, nuanced, and a bit different.

We’ve also added Fort Point’s Strawberry Darling Berliner Weisse to our on tap lineup, another great German-style beer we’ve been loving. The brewers begin with crystal and el dorado hops, and add bohemian pilsner and pale wheat grains to develop a soft, light wheat base. The beer is brewed with loads of strawberries, and add plums and peach to round out a fruity, well balanced tart brew. What begins as a fruit-forward wheat finishes with a twangy sour note, perfectly balancing the ripe strawberries with a strong, tart finish. It’s the brewery’s first fruit beer, and its first canned sour beer, and we’re excited to offer it as it’s a delicious choice for a Southern California fall: celebrating quality produce and brewed for a good time, no matter the temperature. We think it’s a great introduction to fruitier and sour brews, it’s low ABV (4.7%), and not too sour, just enough to pack a lot of flavor into one sip. We also love it as a reference to the German tradition of flavoring their Berliner Weisse with fruit syrups.

Next up, Fort Point’s Dipper Double IPA, one of our favorite beers we’ve tried recently! It’s available seasonally, and while we celebrate it when it’s in season, it’s a beer we crave all year long! The brewers add cashmere, simcoe, waimea, and warrior hops to two row, pale wheat, flaked barley, and munich grains and ferment it to create a heavier ABV that has notes of mango, strawberry, citrus peel, and strawberry ice cream. The brewing team at Fort Point usually brews lighter ABV beer, so they were excited to tackle a more robust, heavy-hitting IPA that has the balanced, complex and flavorful profile they’re known for, while maintaining the smoothness and lack of bitterness not usually found in such a heavy IPA. We love this lush, juicy beer that celebrates the best of hops, and its 8.6% ABV means you’ll get your money’s worth. Try it with our hot Pastrami sandwich and a side of truffle fries -- we promise, you’ll be obsessed with this beer just like we are!

Last but certainly not least is their Cool Cold Fermented Double IPA, which is a very easy drinking IPA with notes of fresh tangerine and mango. Their experiment of brewing an IPA at a lower temperature results in a deliciously hoppy beer, as the colder temps concentrate the hops aroma and flavor, while developing a crisp, smooth finish that’s exciting to drink. The brewers combine citra, strata, and ekuanot hops, with pilsner, blonde roast oat, and flaked wheat grains and allow it to ferment in cold conditions. What results is a delicious beer that has no bitterness or overwhelming aftertaste most people dislike about Double IPAs, perfect for enjoying on a crisp, cool fall day. Packing a whallop of a punch at 6.2% ABV, we love this beer paired with some of our specials -- it’s a match made in heaven with our Hot Reuben sandwich, or our Bratwurst special, which speaking of….

Our Food

Our month-long special for October is our fan favorite: Bratwurst! To fully celebrate the season, we decided to bring back some of our regular customers’ go-to special during fall, and we think it’s the comforting, hearty dish we all need this year! We prepare our sausage by boiling it in

beer to add that malty, authentic flavor, then lightly charring it on the grill -- what’s better than a beer brat cooked to perfection?! It’s served on a toasted pretzel bun with your choice of zingy, tangy sauerkraut, slow roasted peppers, or perfectly caramelized onions.

We’re already getting hungry, and Octoberfest hasn’t started yet! Who’s joining us for a beer?!

Keeping Menu Favorites

For fans of our #DineLA menu this year, we’re excited to announce that we are keeping our Braised Pork Cheeks on special for a while. If you missed out on our special menu you’ve got to try one of our most popular dishes: slow cooked, braised pork cheeks cooked in our own housemade stock until they’re fall-off-the-bone tender, and served over our ridiculously rich, creamy polenta. It’s served with demi glace, mushrooms, and a chimichurri sauce, and garnished with cilantro. Truly heaven on a plate! It’s a fall meal we want to enjoy all season.

Until next week!
